Reunion & Welcome to Jodie and Liz!
We had a catchup with Nick and Julie last week – perfect excuse for a practice outing! 😉
It’s always a big change for people when they retire, but they are both enjoying the feeling of waking up late in the mornings! As well as the wonderful company, we had a fabulous meal at the Fox. A little indulgence after a hard day’s work. 🙂
In addition, it is our great pleasure to introduce our 2 new members of staff at the practice:
Liz Mckechnie and Jodie Hall.
Jodie is a qualified and experienced dental nurse. In fact, Jodie started her dental nurse training at our practice after leaving school. After having her 2 baby boys, she is starting here on a part time basis. She successfully completed her dental radiography course last year and is now qualified in taking dental x-rays.
Liz is a qualified and experienced dental therapist. You may be wondering what a dental therapist is. They are very similar to a dental hygienist but they are capable of doing so much more. As well as helping patients look after patients oral hygiene and gum health, they can do fillings, extract teeth, whiten teeth etc.
You can find out more of what a dental therapist can do by visting the BADT website.
Liz has also completed her Facial Aesthetics training too. Last year we surveyed many of our patients and there was a lot of interest in finding safe and effective ways to improve one’s appearance. Liz is providing us with the solution!
She can perform following procedures:
- Acne treatments
- Lip augmentation
- Dermal fillers
- Chemical Peels
- Micro-derma-abrasion
- Botox
We will be writing a blog about the above in more detail soon. So watch this space!
